Semi professional footballer
A stepping stone to the full time professional game, the semi professional route is the most efficient way into the football pyramid and industry.
Get the best of both worlds
The semi-professional footballer pathway offers an unrivaled number of opportunities as a jumping off point to either go fully professional, work on a career elsewhere in or outside of the football industry or allow you to study at a higher level of education whilst earning money.
New regulations also make this the mandatory route into the professional level for young aspiring footballers without a british passport.
Going into a semi-professional club is a way of having a career that is separate to football, as well as enjoying the benefits and lifestyle of being an active football player.
This is ideal if you have your sights set on a professional career either elsewhere in the football industry or outside of it completely.
Semi-professional clubs operate at the non-league level but still offer the same level of game time as a professional club. The main difference is the part-time nature of the coaching, freeing you up to work at your career and train in your spare time.
Most employers, especially if they are within one of the 200+ careers within the football industry are happy to allow semi-professional players the time they need to attend mid-week games and have systems in place to allow this to happen.
Whilst the salaries of the semi-professional players don’t reach the dizzying heights of professional players, this path allows the flexibility and versatility to take steps into your career whilst keeping all options open.
Just Football is fortunate enough to be fully integrated with Hemsworth Miner’s Welfare, a semi-professional club in the heart of West Yorkshire. The club is perfectly situated for easy access to most of the country and is equipped with a FIFA Quality Pro 3G pitch, a modern clubhouse, changing facilities and our education suites and offices.
Having the academy attached directly to an active club within the English football pyramid means our players get to experience the natural rhythm of an operational football club as well as having direct access to first team football. Within the club, there is a formal competetive structure of teams at different age groups meaning there is always a path for player progression.
